The Events Management Diploma is unique in the college, in that students work across the Creative Industries campus, collaborating with students from a wide range of artistic disciplines. 2020/21 was the first time we ran a dedicated Events Management Extended Diploma, and although the year was impacted by Covid, the students developed some really exciting projects, including;
An online record label, Working as an artists manager with DJ students, Live outdoor music events, live streamed DJ sets, Behind the scenes documentaries exploring the value of music in young peoples lives, Music video production, Video Blogs & behind the scenes with Theatre students, Advice for young people in the music industry, Creating artwork and online content for musicians & more!
Of this year's cohort of 10 students, 7 have gone on to full time Higher Education, in Events Management related courses, and 3 into full time employment. Students have also had the opportunity to partake in work experience with local festival organisations.

Students talking about their work and college life:
"I’m creating a music video, an online record label, as well as the social media and promoting an artist. Overall this project has been a lot of fun! I have really enjoyed learning new things and experiencing a different side to event's management and finding out how to do it all by myself, it's felt very rewarding when things start to turn out well."
"I’m working on my own social media platform. I organised a filming day, where I interviewed Musical Theatre students, I felt very professional, directing the day. It was stressful, but I really enjoyed it. I set up the sound and lighting, and had my friend take ‘behind the scenes’ photos."
"This Final Major Project has really boosted my confidence as it allowed me to work and get to know people that I’d never met before."
"Overall I finished this feeling proud of myself for accomplishing something new."
"Overall the whole project was a success and I feel that I have managed to gain a lot of knowledge in all of the different areas that I wanted as well as more. I have really progressed in my skills this year."
