Art and Design Foundation

Level 3/4
UAL Foundation Diploma

The UAL Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Art and Design has been designed to encourage exploration, experimentation, and creative risk-taking which will extend the learner’s critical independence and enable them to demonstrate a full understanding of the relevant standards required to make their chosen progression route.

The Foundation Diploma course is a pivotal qualification that provides a transition from general education to specialist art and design education. This enables students to make an informed decision when applying to Higher Education or seeking employment within a related industry. The programme therefore builds on students’ prior experience, linking skills already acquired with ideas and challenges, which will increase their independence and enable them to demonstrate a full understanding of the relevant standards necessary to progress to Higher Education or to an alternative career path.
